Why Sales is the Key factor!

Often people ask me why selling is so important in their lives? They say “listen, you know I’m not a full time sales person” and they think that in their jobs they are not selling anything. Guess what? I ‘m going tell you that they are totally wrong.


Everybody is selling something all of the time, if you are not selling your product then you are selling your ideas, your selling your thoughts, you are selling what you want to influence other people what you want to persuade other people and ultimately you are selling yourself.

One of the courses I run is persuasion skills just for CEO’s, in that course I’m not aiming at giving them the ability to sell physical products, I am teaching them how to persuade their staff, how to influence people around them, so what they are actually selling is their ideas, selling their vision for the company and selling their total outlook on what they want for them personally and their company to achieve.

So let me ask you a question, what are you personally aiming to achieve at the moment? What idea are you trying to sell to people and do you use effective ways to sell it to people. Time and time again I find that people aren’t using what it takes to get their ideas across in a way that convinces and persuades other people. They aren’t selling in a way that makes people buy into there vision, buy into there ideas. So remember ask yourself, what are you selling? If it’s not a product then I guarantee either 1. It’s your idea or 2. It’s your vision for something or 3. Its yourself and your skill set.

Think about your particular case, what is it that you are selling on a daily basis in your workplace and in your home life. Without knowing what it is that you are selling you will never be able to get people to buy in.
